Viva Las Vegas!

Well, the trip was in February for Valentines day, but the post goes up over a month later.

Procrastination ISN'T the same as forgetfulness!

It was a good trip, especially once we landed. Apparently our pilot was epileptic, and decided to have a Grand Mal while approaching the Vegas airstrip. Of course, they didnt tell us this - they just used that old lie about "turbulence" and reminded us of the importance of wearing the seat belt. We knew the truth. Years of narcotic abuse and the pilots grey matter was just about as poorly wired as one of Nanaimo's newest Grow Ops.

But anyways - we did very little gambling (read, we spent more on meals than we did on slots)

We walked the strip, up and down. The hotels and casinos are amazing. Some of them even breath taking. The optical illusion in one of them was so complete, if you didnt see the sprinklers in the ceiling, you would have thought that you were outside at dusk. It was very impressive!

Here are the pics:

Here we are outside out hotel - The Flamingo. Nice enough place. Probably clean.

Barb trying to get lucky with the big one armed bandit.

Jason, the one armed bandit, trying to get lucky. All these "ladies" gave me the cold shoulder.

The level of detail that goes into these hotels is just amazing. Some things are subtle, somethings are incredible in their grand scale. I don't think we'll come across a place that is so over the top. Vegas is truly one of a kind. That's probably not a bad thing.
One of the best parts of the trip was getting to see a live Penn & Teller show. They are hilarious, entertaining and even educational. Watch for Penn on this seasons "Dancing with the Stars". He's 6'6" (which partially explains why we look like midgets. That and the fact that we arent very tall) - and if you get a chance to see them live - take it. You wont be disappointed!

The fountains at the Bellagio - muscial water displays, on the 1/2 hr. Only in Vegas.

It was a great trip (got new iPhones!) - but neither of us are making plans to head back anytime soon.

I love your humour Jason and one day hope to read a humourous novel that will contribute greatly to my retirement fund!! (well there is no fund but I could arrange one)
